    The most important aspect of this position is the ability to enable employee learning that improves Channel Management’s ability to consistently deliver high quality services.  Primary responsibility will be to oversee and implement the OJT program for employees. This includes training and observation of trainees with respect to their performance against established training objectives and recommendation of additional skill requirements as training needed.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, develop, and provide training to satisfy the operational needs of the organization
    • Utilize a multimedia approach to learning in appropriate combinations of on-line learning, classroom instruction, demonstrations, job aids, and on-the-job training to produce the most efficient and effective learning experience
    • Develop OJT training programs and participate on teams developing training plans and OJT programs.
    • Assist in developing general training instructions, checklists and visual aids.
    • Conduct new employee orientation, on-the-job/classroom training and certification. Follow up on a regular, planned schedule to answer questions and verify proficiency.
    • Conduct cross training and certification and periodic re-certification as required. Support workers who have questions or need additional assistance in understanding their job responsibilities. 
    • Maintain files of training materials. Maintain organized log(s) of all training conducted.
    • During non-training or non-production periods, the OJT trainer may be called upon to perform in other capacities such as: working on problem solving, continuous improvement or safety programs; cross training of operators; performing technical checks on equipment; assist with training programs in other departments; check for correct procedure and accuracy; and assist in general housekeeping activities.
    • Some classroom training may be periodically required.
    • Periodic attendance at training seminars, of which some will require out of town or overnight arrangements.
    • Perform all training in full compliance with all company, state and/or federal safety and environmental regulations.
    • Notify designated personnel of any irregularities in materials, process, or equipment.
    • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area(s) and observe company policies at all times.
    • Responsible for creating required training modules, courses and curricula concerning the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and teaching them to appropriate personnel as required following the established guidelines and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Partner with the Shared Services Training team to implement and monitor any trainings added to the Learning Management System (LMS).
    • Coordinate and conduct business and technical training for new hires and current employees, including oversight of on-the-job training and remedial training
    • Work with on-the-job instructors to ensure a robust and effective training experience for new hires
    • Work with on-the-job instructors to ensure a robust and effective training experience for tenured employees with remedial training needs as identified by managers
    • Train managers and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and energizing employees
    • Develop competency testing and evaluation tools, including on-the-job checklists
    • Evaluate training with a focus on continuous improvement and considering employee satisfaction
    • Provide a variety of training materials for in-house courses as appropriate; amend or revise as needed
    • Confer with management to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors; prioritize accordingly
    • Act as the local learning management system administrator
    • Handle related tasks as assigned

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

    • A Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Instructional Design, Human Resource Development, or related business degree
    • 3-5 years’ experience in training development and delivery; high focus on on-line learning
    • 2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory/management role is a plus
    • Experience as an instructional design/facilitator/trainer and the ability to develop a training team over time
    • Application of effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication methods to achieve desired results
    • Ability to work in a team environment at all levels within the organization
    • Ability to provide effective feedback and constructive criticism to team members to enhance and improve training solutions
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
    • Proficiency building online training using Articulate Story Line 2
    • Ability to perform detail-oriented work accurately, work on multiple assignments simultaneously, maintain confidential information, and meet deadlines
    • Some travel will be required
