    THE POSITION:

    The Sr. Network Engineer will be expected to exhibit strong troubleshooting techniques while striving to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be responsible for designing and implementing network solutions while providing system operational support, administration, problem resolution, and perform hardware and software installations and upgrades. Other duties also include monitoring network performance and capacity.

    essential duties and responsibilites:

    • Works with a team to design and implement infrastructure solutions relating to networking, security, server virtualization, enterprise storage.
    • Responds to incoming phone, email or web reported technical issues from internal users related to network, infrastructure, and to assist in troubleshooting applications that run on the network.
    • Provides support to local and remote employees for a suite of proprietary and custom software applications
    • Performs network monitoring to ensure service level agreements are met and alerts appropriate IT staff and management of any downtime.
    • Works in partnership with all IT teams to find solutions, and/or escalates issues to appropriate IT, end users, and management groups for resolution. 
    • Proactively identifies and recommends enhancements to the overall IT infrastructure
    • Learns new and existing hardware and software products 
    • Recreates problems locally using varying combinations of hardware and software to assist in troubleshooting.
    • Creates and documents solutions
    • Assists in User Acceptance Testing on new releases where appropriate
    • May require limited travel to other company locations
    • Assist in training
    • Performs additional support duties as required and assigned

    MINIMUM qualifications:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

    • 5+ years experience in a multi-site network environment designing and supporting LAN, Wireless, WAN and edge technologies. Cisco Nexus and ACI experience a plus.
    • Routing protocol experience including BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS and experience with Site-to-Site VPN, DMVPN, MPLS, point-to-point WAN circuits.
    • Experience in virtualization technologies such as VMware as it relates to networking. VMware virtual distributed switch experience preferred.
    • Experience in network policy and security tools such as ISE, NAC, 802.1x, managing ACLs, Firewall DMZs and/or ACI segmentation constructs such as EPGs and contracts.
    • Experience in Firewall management with Cisco ASA preferred. Includes managing Layer 3 rule sets and Client VPN.
    • Experience with email routing, anti-spam and anti-malware technologies, and email delivery systems including Microsoft Exchange.
    • Experience managing Layer 4-7 load balancer/application delivery controllers such as F5
    • Experience managing Manage external enterprise certificates and internal Certificate Authority implementations
    • Experience with storage technologies, including NetApp or Nimble, in iSCSI or Fiberchannel variants.
    • Experience with VoIP technologies including Cisco Unified Communications and related voice routing platforms such as the Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE)
    • Experience in enterprise-grade network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, LiveAction or Cisco Prime.
    • Ability to anticipate problems and recommend departmental level changes and/or enhancements 
    • Scripting and automation experience
    • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills 
    • Demonstrated strong customer service and analytic skills 
    • Demonstrated ability to think through sets of complex problems, create and implement appropriate solutions 
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships 
    • Expert understanding of layer 3 networking
    • Administrative experience with Windows Server OS and services (DNS, DHCP, AD, RDP, File, Print). Linux experience a plus.

    Preferred qualifications:

    In addition to the required qualifications:

     

    • 10 Years of experience preferred spanning more than one environment
    • CCNA certifications or equivalent in Route/Switch, Data Center, Security and/or Wireless
    • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
    • F5 experience preferred
    • Office 365 administration experience a plus
    • Admin experience in backup technologies
    • Experience with Citrix a plus
    • IP telephony a plus

    • The majority of the work will be performed in an office setting
