THE POSITION:

As a Quality Analyst on the software development team, you must have superb software testing skills, and be able to develop and execute test plans in many project styles.  Great analytical and communication skills with both a non-technical business audience, as well as a development team (project manager, UX/IA, developer). The analyst must develop test plans that get to the core of business needs and drive out any potential flaws in developed software modules, communicating all results to development. The analyst must also be able to identify and communicate potential development challenges or restrictions back to the development team and to the client in terms each audience can understand.

This position will also have broad responsibilities that will include project coordination, project management on smaller projects, presentations to executive staff, coordinating and leading demos, possible Client interaction, and help desk ticket triage.  We are a small and nimble team serving the needs of the varying teams – and the responsibilities will be broad and varied.

  • Ability to identify requirement gaps or identify potential development challenges from client requests

Responsibilities

REsponsibilities:

  • Translate business goals and requirements into well-defined test plans.
  • Write detailed testing criteria and expected outcomes for software modules and user stories (experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) is a plus).
  • Analyze target user base and document test plans to ensure both smoke test and deeper functional and regression testing scenarios.
  • Work with BA and other QA staff to ensure test plans address all requirements.
  • Assist with new project definition, coordination, and help desk triage to tee up specific issues for the experienced support developers.

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • 5 years’ experience in QA role in a software development environment OR 1+ years in QA analysis role with 5 years’ experience in other software development team role (e.g. BA, Developer, PM)
  • Proven experience in writing and maintaining test cases for development work
  • Knowledge and use of automated testing suites is highly desirable
